A DAY IN THE LIFE
Our Biologist Project Manager (Senior Biologist) position is located in Oakland, CA, but the ideal candidate will be based out of San Luis Obispo County with a remote work arrangement.
As a key member of the team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Serve as project manager for regulatory permitting and CEQA projects.
Oversee and manage technical studies in support of the permitting and CEQA process.
Lead developing regulatory permit applications and coordinating with regulatory agencies to obtain authorizations.
Work together with Montrose Principals to develop work proposals.
Interact with range of clients to help solve their environmental compliance needs.
Build capacity in Montrose's northern California team to support stream and watershed management and restoration projects.
Mentor junior staff.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in a Science, Environmental, Engineering related field.
Master's degree preferred but not required.
5+ years of experience managing projects.
CEQA/NEPA knowledge required.
Knowledge and experience with regulatory permitting in CA is required.
Ability to collaborate and develop relationships and teams across an organization.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once in a fast-paced work environment.
Work requires report development, analysis, and writing.
Proven abilities in project management, cost estimating, and technical writing.
Experience successfully achieving deadlines and aggressive schedules set by the client.
Ability to work independently, be resourceful, ask thoughtful questions, follow specific directions, take initiative, & be a team player.
Work very well under pressure.
