Your Role:
Evaluate products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and department. Responsibilities and tasks below:
Safely perform operations to meet quality expectations.
Ensure quality throughout the process.
Provide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelines.
Perform and interpret analytical evaluations of products and intermediates.
Complete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlines.
Perform multi-disciplined, established processes, assays and/or unit operations, primarily those requiring a higher level of skill and knowledge.
Accurately perform procedure independently.
Communicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of supervisor.
Identify problems and limitations of analysis.
Perform routine troubleshooting.
Participate in process improvements under the guidance of a supervisor or Scientist.
Develop improvement ideas, review impact of changes and document all work.
Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions.
Train personnel and act as a technical consultant as needed.
Supply information based on experience and knowledge.
Assure you are adequately trained to perform tasks/assignments.
Clean-up equipment and working areas during and after operations.
Contribute to support functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal).
Ensure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completely as required by current procedures.
Interact with other departments as needed.
Participate as needed in quality audits.
Review of final assays and procedures.
Interface with external customers.
1st shift - Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm (Flexible start time available)
Physical Attributes:
Wears Personal Protective Equipment such as respirator or chemical protective clothing for extended periods.
Lifting and pushing up to 80 pounds unassisted.
Sits, stands, walks, reaches, stoops, kneels, crouches, and crawls for extended periods.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, biochemistry or other life science discipline.
2+ years of lab experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of a variety of molecular, immune, and cell-based assay methods and theory.
Ability to perform scientific calculations.
Strong time management skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to self-motivate and meet deadlines
Logical approach to problem solving.
Attention to detail.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to thrive within a team atmosphere.
Experience with SAP preferred.
Ability to identify and communicate process improvement ideas is preferred.
