We are currently looking for a Tax Manager to join our team in Minneapolis, MN.

This position will share responsibility for overseeing Piper Sandler's tax compliance. The position requires extensive knowledge of tax regulation and will report to the Tax Director.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and disclosures for financial statements in compliance with ASC740 or other relevant accounting standards


• Perform quarterly financial reporting for tax associated with foreign subsidiaries and coordinate timely preparation and submission of annual tax returns


• Oversight of process for timely submission of VAT returns and payments of VAT to applicable overseas tax authorities


• Build and maintain relationships with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure effective communication and collaboration


• Assist external tax advisors in the federal and state income tax compliance process including the oversight of the collection of apportionment and other state data, with the opportunity to guide improvements to systems and data collection processes


• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to provide accurate tax estimates, forecasts and analysis for financial planning


• Assist in providing tax support for new products and other change initiatives


• Review monthly reconciliations of income tax-related accounts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting


• Minimum of 5 years of experience required in public accounting or corporate taxation


• CPA certification


• Strong quantitative and analytical skills


• Professional written and verbal communication skills


• Strong organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously


• Keen attention to detail


• Financial services industry experience (preferred)

The anticipated starting salary range for Minnesota- based individuals expressing interest in this position is $125,000 - $175,000 per year. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience, location and other factors. This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation which will be a part of the total compensation. Total compensation for this position will be competitive with the market.
