PURPOSE:
The Vice President, Product Management is the primary product owner of a the made-to-order and stock product categories and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and driving controllable parameters for the vitality and profit generation - for all products manufactured by the company, including stock bath, storage, stock framed kitchens and frameless kitchens. This individual determines the key elements of the product road map and directs all activities associated with the product life cycle of stock products. He/she assures Product Management best practices are being followed from product inception through commercialization and eventual discontinuance across platforms and product categories.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leadership
- Provide thought leadership and strategic vision for the stock product management team
- Lead product strategy, development, and implementation in concert with the overall company strategy, value proposition and the 3-year product road map. Lead stock contribution to the annual strategic planning process for the product line
- Assure a well-trained product team Is recruited (as necessary) and engaged in the business.
- Lead various project teams and efforts as assigned
- Contribute to Profit profile of programs by making value proposition / VICO, positioning, pricing and investment recommendations.
- Manage the stock Product Management cost budget
- Work discretely with confidential and proprietary information

Product - Process
- Manage the product life cycle for product platform and categories
- Lead and manage the New Product Development Process
- Contribute to Innovation and VICO by Identifying opportunities and collaborating with appropriate teams. Some level of these activities will be driven to closure within this role's team as a matter of everyday business.
- Identify, define and size market opportunities based on consumer insight, competitive intelligence, channel dynamics and industry evolution
- Use (and help to generate) market insights to recommend new product categories and segments of business as appropriate. Additionally, use evolving market and competitive insights to adjust content and value proposition of existing products as appropriate.
- Partner with channel management to support VOC consumer tastes and preferences and appropriate responses to channel requests. However, strike an appropriate balance to reconcile VOC unique channel needs to maintain as much standardization, efficiency and cost control as possible.
- Leverage available production platforms to drive revenue and profitability across channels
Work closely with other functional areas of the company to drive product and platform performance
- Lead forums and presentations within the Product Steering Committee (and/or prepare Product Managers to do the same).

People
- Lead the Product Management Organization
- Responsible for organizational development, advancement and succession planning

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the management and supervision of the Stock Product Management team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Education, Experience and Skills
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, business or related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of marketing leadership experience with a record of consistent contributions/successes within an organization
- Process-oriented mentality with experience implementing product management best practices and evolving them to fit the needs of the organization
- Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills
- Ability to build effective business relationships
- Ability to generate and articulate a clear vision as well as major milestones and requirements to help guide the actions of teams
- Ability to conduct complex analyses (e.g. financial analyses) and draw easy to follow / accurate conclusions
- Energy and focus to be goals and results oriented

Language Skills:
Ability to read, and interpret common business documents including technical reports, charts, graphs and diagrams. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers/clients, members of the business community and public.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret graphs and diagrams.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds over head.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Some domestic travel is required. 15% typical but may eclipse 25% depending upon project at hand. Limited international travel may be required. Typical office environment (combination of in-office and work from home) with moderate noise level. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
