JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Purpose:

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Director (or Senior) of Talent Management (Talent Acquisition and Training & Development) to lead our global talent initiatives. This role is critical in shaping our workforce strategy, ensuring we attract, develop, and retain top talent to support our ambitious growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in succession planning and scaling talent acquisition and development programs to meet the demands of a diverse, global workforceMinimum Requirements:

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Communication, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of direct work experience in a similar role may substitute for a degree.

Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role focused on talent acquisition and training & development, preferably in a global organization.
  • Strong background in succession planning and workforce development strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale talent initiatives in alignment with business growth and operational demands.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in utilizing HR analytics to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of advanced sourcing services like LinkedIn, Indeed, and eQuest.
  • Familiarity with LMS systems, reporting tools, and learning/development metrics.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment and hiring laws, processes, and terminology.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for travel.

  • Ability to handle situations with confidentiality, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve complex HR issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of wage/hour and employment laws/regulations.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and behavioral psychology.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to multitask with strict deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Must work well in a team environment and adhere to required work schedules.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility; drive; talk; see; hear; and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Minimal safety hazards; general office working conditions.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel is required and is anticipated to be 25% of the time.
  • Primarily an office environment with frequent travel to field locations.

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with Oracle and ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience in the energy/oil/gas industry.
  • Human Resources certification or progress towards certification.
  • Global HR experience.
  • Spanish-speaking ability.

  • Succession Planning: Design and execute effective succession planning processes to identify and cultivate high-potential employees, ensuring leadership continuity and organizational resilience.
  • Global Operations Support: Scale talent acquisition and training programs to support our expanding global operations, adapting strategies to meet diverse regional needs while maintaining a cohesive company culture.
  • Talent Acquisition: Direct and enhance strategies to attract, engage, and retain top talent, utilizing innovative sourcing methods and data-driven recruitment strategies to build a quality talent pipeline.
  • Training & Development: Lead the creation of leadership development programs that align with strategic business imperatives, fostering organizational management capabilities.
  • Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders and hiring teams to understand workforce needs and develop targeted recruitment and training initiatives that drive organizational success.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Utilize analytics to assess the effectiveness of talent acquisition and training initiatives, making data-informed adjustments to enhance outcomes.
  • Employer Branding: Enhance our employer brand to attract top-tier talent, leveraging social media, industry events, and partnerships to position Tallgrass as an employer of choice.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of HR professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all recruitment, application, and hiring laws at the state and federal levels.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and identify improvements in talent acquisition and training processes.

Compensation: Compensation ranges are provided in good faith based on what we anticipate when researching wages for this position at the state and national levels. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
