Maintenance Supervisor at BWAY in Cedar City, Utah

Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION



Responsibilities:

• Participates in JHSC committee and serves as administrator.
• Conducts a variety of EHS training including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry and timely environmental training.
• Assist with keeping employee safety and environmental training records up to date.
• Enforces all plant rules, monitors attendance and provides corrective action (discipline) as necessary.
• Conduct EHS tours/audits of all plant areas. Send out reports of findings/discrepancies.
• Conducts safety inspections of work areas, examines tools/equipment, facilitates safety training to prevent, identify and correct unsafe conditions or violation of safety procedures and rules.
• May interface with vendors and suppliers as necessary to discuss products used in repair work and/or projects that need to be completed.
• Participates in Lean Manufacturing practices such as Six Sigma, 5S, FMEA, 8D Problem Analysis.
• Fosters a positive working environment and drives Maintenance team to meet set productivity targets and performance standards.
• Create various Job Safety Analysis and Energy Safe Task procedures/instructions.
• Assist with and perform Ergonomic studies.
• Assist with and perform inspection of plant fire protection systems (basic aspects).
• Maintaining EHS Insight database.
• Perform and/or assist with incident investigations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Associates Degree and/or technical school certification
• Previous EHS training with certificate preferred (such as OSHA 30-hour training, environmental aspects, i.e. RCRA, DOT, etc.)
• At least one year of experience leading/supervising in a maintenance and manufacturing operation.
• Previous experience working in a Lean environment preferred
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Exceptional written/verbal communication skills and ability to be a team player
• Excellent analytical thinking and innovative problem solving skills
• Has the ability to multi-task, prioritize in a fast-paced environment
