About the Department

The Department of Pathology has a long and rich history of excellence in clinical service, training, and research. Our physicians and scientists are experts in a variety of subspecialties in anatomic pathology, laboratory medicine, genomics and molecular pathology, investigational pathology, and immunology. Our diverse faculty study and diagnose patient disease and medical conditions using state-of-the-art methodologies.



Job Summary

This position will have responsibility for launching and maintaining several key projects for the Department of Pathology, as well as some day-to- day administrative support tasks for faculty.



Responsibilities



  • Faculty administrative support.


  • Project management.


  • Tagging and tracking federally funded research equipment.


  • Faculty scheduling.


  • Management of financial reimbursement requests.


  • Support of division-wide initiatives.


  • Uses best practices to develop and execute organization's operational and overall strategic plan. Develops and implements relevant policies and procedures and ensures compliance.


  • Plans, develops, analyzes and manages budget, including developing multi-year budget forecasts. May oversee the preparation and management of grant and contract proposals, ensuring compliance with all University, federal and private foundation guidelines and regulations. Develops financial reports and assists with seeking funding for grants.


  • Works with minimal guidance in space, facilities, and equipment, including renovations, moves, maintenance and ongoing facilities operations.


  • Performs other related work as needed.





Minimum Qualifications




Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.



Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

  • Health care administration experience strongly preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Travel: Occasionally.
