Position Type: Full-Time Summary of position:The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy.
The Director of Behavioral Services leads the Behavioral Services Department and serves as a member of Manville School's Leadership Team. As an administrator within this group, this individual is directly responsible for the development and implementation of behavioral interventions across Manville School. The Director of Behavioral Services collaborates closely with other administrators across departments in the shared responsibility of ensuring the efficient daily functioning of a therapeutic milieu in which behavioral supports, clinical programming, academic instruction, and caregiver collaboration are carefully interwoven. Additionally, this individual supervises Manville School's Behavioral Services Coordinators, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), and leads the implementation of a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework.

Essential duties:
Ensure evidence-based behavioral interventions are implemented with a high degree of fidelity
Establish strategies for verbal de-escalation and support staff across departments in their fluency with these approaches
Provide supervision and ongoing coaching to Behavioral Services Coordinators and BCBAs
Create and implement professional development and training content for Behavioral Services Department by leading regular departmental meetings
Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and training of staff within the Behavioral Services Department
Provide crisis intervention and direct service for students when necessary with an emphasis on modeling and training staff
Communicate with caregivers when necessary regarding student behavior
Facilitate the professional growth and development of staff within the Behavioral Services Department to support independent decision-making in alignment with policies and procedures
Determine the necessity of, and practices related to, in- and out-of-school suspensions, including communication to caregivers and facilitation of re-entry meetings
Ensure the proper notification and reporting practices for behavioral incidents, including physical restraints, according to DESE regulations
Lead the implementation of Manville School's PBIS framework
Serve as an internal CPI trainer
Actively participate in administrative and managerial meetings
Provide effective and responsible daily management, coordination, and supervision of school activities in collaboration with other school administrators
Demonstrate commitment to the development and maintenance of an equity-focused, positive, strengths-based school culture
Participate in training opportunities to remain fluent in current best practices
Additional duties as assigned and requested
QualificationsEducation:
Master's degree in behavior analysis, psychology, social work, special education, or related field
Experience:
5+ years working with children
2-5+ years of supervisory and/or leadership experience
Training:
Familiarity with positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) preferred
