Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the General Manager and indirectly to the CHRO of IDEAL INDUSTRIES INC, the Global Human Resources Director is a key member of the IDEAL Electrical leadership team and owns the organizational development activities that support the business globally.  We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader who will be accountable for the execution of all operational human resources spanning manufacturing operations, sales and product development. This hybrid role is critical in driving our HR strategy, fostering a positive work culture, and ensuring the effective management of our global division based in Sycamore, IL with 4 non-US locations.  This position will partner with the senior leadership team and enterprise HR to develop HR strategy aligned with business objectives supporting the overall growth and success of the company and our employees.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Partner - Serve as a key member of the division senior leadership team as a contributor and influencer in driving global business results.  Develop a cohesive human capital plan to drive the people, culture, and organizational development strategies to realize desired business outcomes.
  • Talent Management - Coach senior management to develop effective leadership and management succession planning, succession planning, leadership development and career development for employees. Oversee the recruitment, onboarding and retention of top talent across all locations by working collaboratively with Talent Acquisition team to fulfill and onboard professional staffing and managing the HR team overseeing hourly recruitment and onboarding for IDEAL manufacturing locations.
  • Leadership - Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the HR department, leading a team of direct and indirect reports in US, Canada and Europe. Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and contribute to their career growth.
  • Change Agent – Serve as a role model for the IDEAL values. Proactively partner with, and coach, the business leadership team to facilitate organizational and cultural change. Act as a catalyst for building Organizational Effectiveness and resiliency within the business.  Educate the business on HR trends that affect the business.
  • Human Resources Excellence –Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR- related matters. Employ proactive risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with employment regulations and labor law.
  • Employee Relations – Intentionally cultivate trusted working relationships throughout the company and at all levels. Coach and mentor culture committees and actively engage with IDEAL’s Workplace Council.  Develop management capability to enable a positive workplace culture connected to the IDEAL values.  May conduct internal investigations and provide conflict resolution as necessary.  Establish credibility to be sought out as the objective employee resource and escalation path for unresolved employee relations issues.
  • Corporate Initiatives & Compliance – Expand the focus on Employee Experience and promote continuous improvement by reinforcing the importance of Focus, Simplify and Act. Work closely with the corporate Human Resources team to support company-wide initiatives, and ensure local administration as applicable of benefits, compensation, performance management and compliance programs.  Lead the HR team responsible for maintenance of employee records and representing the company in unemployment, workers compensation, EEO, ADA, FMLA & OSHA compliance issues.

 



Qualifications



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related major required; Master’s degree or SPHR designation preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Must be a “hands-on” professional with a proven knowledge of employee relations, leadership development, training, organizational development, performance management, compliance issues, communications, salaried and hourly staffing, and compensation/benefit administration.
  • Proven experience in a global HR role within a fast paced, and dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge HR best practices, labor laws, regulations and expertise in the employee life cycle in multiple countries
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

The expected annual salary for this position is between $140,513.00 and $189,345.00 and will be eligible for incentive pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for the position and actual compensation will be based on numerous factors including knowledge, location, skills, training and experience.
