Job Description:

As a member of our category management team, you'll work closely with our sales and marketing teams to help our customers make the most informed product and promotion decisions, using industry-leading research tools that identify consumer insights. The information you'll provide is critical to our shared success. Senior Analyst Customer Insights - Channels Category Leadership Position Overview: As a Senior Analyst of Customer Insights - Channels on our Category Leadership team, you'll play a key role in driving sausage sales by partnering with sales, marketing, and our retail customers. You'll provide valuable data insights, analysis, information support, and training. This position focuses on:


  • Category insights, analytics, and strategy for the Dollar, Club, Foodservice, and Convenience Store Channels
  • Engagement with our sales and marketing teams and strategic retail partners
  • Sausage category leadership and development
  • Sausage selling capability and tool development
  • Leveraging syndicated data and tools to provide insights that drive sausage revenue and profits
  • Coordinates on site syndicated data resources & reporting

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborateclosely with the Marketing and Sales Teams, as well as key retail partners, to:

    • Create and analyze marketing and sales reports using a variety of reporting tools and data sources
    • Develop and present customer-specific analyses that explain trends, identify distribution opportunities and define promotional best practices
    • Provide syndicated POS, panel, and customer card data to drive Johnsonville and category revenue and profits
    • Leverage pricing and assortment insights to accurately forecast volume and share based on price, promotion, or assortment changes
    • Track and evaluate new item launches and drivers of base volume
    • Drive category insights and best practices that help our customers achieve business growth
  • Actively participate in Key Channel meetings
  • Build strong collaborative partnerships with cross-functional team members and research partners like Circana, 84.51, dunnhumby, Datassentials, Technomic and others

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience supporting Field Sales, Business Development, Category Management, Trade Analytics or Revenue Management, required
  • CPG industry experience in at least one of the Club, C-Store, Foodservice, and/or Dollar Channels, required

  • Experience working across multiple data sources, required

    • Syndicated POS and Panel data tool experience (i.e. Circana Unify, Nielsen Answers) is preferred
    • Customer POS and loyalty card data experience (i.e. 84.51, dunnhumby) desired
  • Familiarity with assortment, pricing, and marketing mix analyses desired
  • Experience working with data partners on analytic project s preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • Great at analyzing data and solving problems with strong math and reasoning skills
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and other data visualization tools)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives from data
  • Genuine curiosity and desire to ask, "what's next?"
  • Ability to contribute to a strong team environment with positive and constructive input and desire to improve the Category Leadership team and function
  • Proven ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships and work effectively with diverse teams
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new skills in a fast-paced, project-driven environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously
