Supports the day-to-day administration of UNFCU's employee benefits and well-being programs, including processing changes, addressing inquiries, coordinating vendor issues, and maintaining records. Assists with new hire orientation, open enrollment, expense tracking, and well-being initiatives to ensure program efficiency and a positive employee experience.
NYC Salary range: $78,120 - $82,000 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location. This position is hybrid.

Address benefit-related inquiries from employees and escalate issues to the Manager, Benefits Administration or VP, Global Benefits when appropriate.
Conduct new hire benefits orientation and support the benefits onboarding process.
Process benefits enrollments, changes and terminations in the HRIS system.
Assist Manager, Benefits Administration with tracking and reconciling expenses related to health and welfare, 401k/Pension, FSA, Tuition Reimbursement, Disability, FMLA, and Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation and processing and remitting benefit invoices on a timely basis.
Process 401K enrollments, changes and terminations with plan recordkeeper.
Administer COBRA and notify third party vendor of terminations.
Serve as a backup for semi-monthly payroll tasks, including changes, additions, terminations, disability, and 401K.
Support the Manager, Benefits Administration by collaborating with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve claims, eligibility, and other benefit-related issues.
Assist with annual open enrollment and various other benefits projects.
Develop and support the creation of HR announcements, intranet content, and company-wide emails for the benefits team.
Maintain accurate benefits data in the HRIS, manage records (including e-filing), and compile financial, statistical, and reporting data as needed
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and UNFCU's Code of Ethics & Business Conduct.
What we're seeking
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
1-3 years of benefits administration experience
Knowledge of benefits law and regulations including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, Worker's Compensation, and Disability
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience working with Payroll/HRIS and report-writing software (UKG and Nautilus preferred)
