HOURLY RATE: $18.00 - 25.00 per hour (based on relevant experience)

What You'll Do: As a Stormwater Maintenance Intern, you'll become an essential part of the Stormwater Maintenance Team in Water Field Operations, learning from the best while actively improving our city's infrastructure. Your exciting day-to-day responsibilities will include:
-Team Up with Experts: Assist skilled Water Systems Operators in maintaining and repairing stormwater facilities, including inlets, manholes, and pipes.
-Master the Tools of the Trade: Learn to operate and maintain equipment like trucks, pressure washers, and hand tools-no experience? No problem! We'll train you.
-Get Outside: Participate in seasonal maintenance like mowing and landscaping while enjoying the great outdoors.
-Be the Face of Change: Help answer community questions and resolve minor issues, showing your pride in serving your city.
-Collaborate and Contribute: Work alongside a fantastic crew to tackle stormwater infrastructure projects that make a difference.
-Stay Safe: Follow all City safety policies and procedures to protect yourself and your team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.
-Assisting Water Systems Operators in daily maintenance and repair tasks such as replacing water, wastewater, or storm water facilities; fire hydrants; valves, manholes and storm inlets.
-Ride-a-long with Water Systems Operators and assist in using hand tools, small non-motorized equipment and other equipment needed for the maintenance of Water, Sewer and Stormwater Systems.
-Could participate on a seasonal mowing crew and operate Lawn Mowers, Tractors, Weed Trimmers, etc.
-Completes a maintenance check and performs minor repairs on fire hydrants and secondary valves and restores finish to fire hydrants.
-Operates and maintains equipment and vehicles such as truck, pressure washer, paint sprayer and other applicable equipment.
-Provides customer service by answering questions, providing information and resolving complaints and problems.
-May occasionally work with another stormwater crews repairing infrastructure.
-Acknowledges and follows City safety policies.
