CCM's string department is a highly collaborative, multi-dimensional area of the Performance Studies Division, offering BM, MM, Artist Diploma, and DMA degree programs. During CCM's illustrious 150-year history, its string faculty has included Dorothy Delay, Eugène Ysaÿe, and the LaSalle Quartet. Its graduates are currently teaching at major conservatories and performing in major orchestras worldwide from Berlin to Beijing.

The department is seeking to enhance its current offerings with candidates who have research or performance interests in a related field reflective of the future job market. This could include but is not limited to areas such as community engagement, music entrepreneurship, music leadership, music technology, pedagogy, chamber music, or other repertoire.
The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), a nationally prominent comprehensive college for the performing and media arts, seeks an experienced teacher and performing artist for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor appointment, intended to begin August 15, 2025. Rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials. Initial appointment is three (3) years, after which the faculty member is eligible for reappointment.
Prior to the effective date of the appointment, the successful candidate must have either:
1. A Master's Degree in Music or related field in addition to a total of two (2) years of experience in cello. Such experience must encompass two (2) years of professional performance experience as well as two (2) academic years of professional teaching experience, which can, but need not, be contemporaneous to the professional performance experience.
OR
2. A Bachelor's Degree in Music or related field in addition to a total of seven (7) years of experience. Such experience must encompass five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience in cello (such as instructing clinics/masterclasses/workshops, coaching, publishing scholarly or pedagogical works, recording projects, or touring), as well as two (2) years of professional performance experience and two academic years of professional teaching experience, which can, but need not, be contemporaneous to the professional performance experience.
