Position Title: Associate Operations Analyst/Operations Analyst/Sr Operations Analyst

Location: Sioux City, IA, United States

Description:
This position is posted multi-level and will be filled based on candidate experience.

The senior operations analyst performs audits to support gas regulatory compliance activities with a focus on gas transmission and distribution facilities. The senior operations analyst will gather and evaluate technical, operational and field data to identify anomalies or trends in data and provide recommendations to resolve problems.

Responsibilities:
Leads audits of regulatory commissions including records and field audits ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations along with company standards and written plans. (40%) Performs internal audits of electronic compliance data and field inspections, including development of customized queries, to identify issues or gaps in data. This includes developing methods for analyzing data across multiple platforms. (25%) Coordinates audit results with others in group. Produces final report and presents audit review information to management in a professional and accurate manner. Tracks results through resolution. (15%) Assists with creation of compliance recovery plans as assigned. (15%) Interacts with and responds in a timely manner to requests regarding compliance activities from the Iowa Utilities Commission, Illinois Commerce Commission, South Dakota Public Utilities Commission, Nebraska Fire Marshal's Office and Federal DOT (PHMSA). Reviews and comments on new or proposed regulatory rules. (5%) Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques. Evaluate present practices and implement processes, concepts, training and tools to prevent, detect and correct human errors that may adversely impact the safe, reliable operation of the natural gas transmission and distribution system.

Maintain sensitive and confidential information regarding company information. Attend work on a regular basis and support the company's employee policies and procedures, including workplace safety rules. Ensure all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understand and comply with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering or related field or equivalent work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)

Eight or more years' experience related to utility and/or business operations or equivalent.

Advanced degree preferred.

Advanced leadership skills to direct the activities of individuals and/or teams toward the accomplishment of goals.

Effective analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills to compile and analyze data and to recommend appropriate course of action.

Planning skills to develop plans and forecasts and to manage and coordinate projects.

Effective oral and written communication skills to effectively present information and persuade opinion.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
