Skills and Competencies

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Java language development.


• Experience in relational databases, e.g., Postgres / MS SQL, Schema and query optimization, large DB design.


• Experience in developing production-quality RESTful APIs and Microservices, with a focus on scalability and robustness.


• Familiarity building cloud-native applications with Docker & Kubernetes.


• Strong industry experiences collaborating with team on designing, developing, testing, and shipping solutions to large scale technical problems.


• Comprehensive understanding of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.


• Strong problem-solving skills, demonstrating creativity and technical insight to navigate complexity.


• Solid grasp of software design principles, coding & architectural best practices, and writing well-tested high-quality code.


• Advanced knowledge of multi-threading, memory management, and query processing.


• Keen interest in ensuring application scalability, availability, reliability, security, and cost-effective execution.


• Resilience and adaptability in navigating organizational and technical change.


• Ability to deal with ambiguity and understand key business needs in line with competing priorities and apply the right technology and implementation to the solution.


• Experience in technical leadership, driving team efforts for Software design and development.


• Preferred to have the python experience.
  

Education
Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related fields.

You will be part of Moody's Insurance Solutions where we develop cutting-edge software, sophisticated models, and advanced analytics that power risk quantification for the global market. Our solutions enable organizations to better understand and manage the risks of natural catastrophes, including hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, wildfires, climate change.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $168,200.00 - $243,650.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moody's also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
