Glendale Colorado and other Veteran's Affairs (VA) medical facilities in CO

@Orchard LLC is supporting a contract proposal to staff over 100 Medical Support Assistant roles at VA Medical facilities in Colorado with the greatest concentration in Glendale, CO, other staffing concentrations include Aurora, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Castle Rock, CO. This is an hourly contract with overtime paid at 1.5 core hourly rate for hours worked more than 40 hours in a week. If awarded, we expect the project to start in late April or early May 2025.

Core Responsibilities

• Working under the direction of the Lead Scheduler, provide a positive engagement with visitors and ensure matters are handled pleasantly and proactively.
• Ensure all patient communications are completed on time and appropriately.
• Coordinate and authorize Veteran care with community providers that the VA does not supply or cannot supply promptly.
• Communicate with internal medical providers on rules and regulations for VA Community Care and advise on appropriate processes.
• Notify the contracting supervisor when automated systems are not performing as needed. Validate and update patient demographic information.
• Ensure that all necessary health & administrative information is processed to be integrated into the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA).
• Properly process community care consults via HealthShare Referral Manager (HSRM) and Provider Profile Management System (PPMS) systems and other systems as needed.
• Respond to telephone inquiries regarding the delivery of services in a timely and professional manner.

Your background will include.

• A high school or GED diploma.
• At least 6 months of customer service experience, with prior experience within a healthcare setting preferred.
• Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States

This role falls under the Service Contract Authority (SCA), with compensation set as an hourly pay rate, with 1.5 hourly pay paid for approved hours worked over 40 hours in a week. The anticipated pay rate is $18-22 per hour depending on experience and location. This is currently a proposal being submitted in a competitive environment; final hiring decisions will only be made after the award of the contract has been received.
