Job Summary:
A dual role responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Big Leaf Front of House and Retail Operations and reports to the Dining & Retail Supervisor. Retail responsibilities to include merchandise control to facilitate fulfillment of financial goals, company incentives and client standards. Assist in control and management of all aspects of the FOH restaurant and retail operation to maintain a consistently high standard of guest service, cleanliness, product presentation, and cost control. Supervise FOH staff to ensure tasks are completed in a friendly, safe and efficient manner.


Job Description:



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Monitor, problem solve, and direct workers to ensure efficient and safe completion of all retail tasks daily.



  • Regularly evaluate store floor visually for stock "holes" and respond appropriately.

  • Maintain store to standards set by Retail Manager.

  • Assist in establishing and implementing loss prevention procedures.

  • Assist in merchandising inventory to maximize sales and profit potential.

  • Maintain department records such as deposits and daily cash reports.



  • Communicate regularly and professionally with numerous people including Kitchen Manager, Supervisors, and Cooks to ensure safe, professional, and efficient food service.

  • Assist with month end inventory counts.

  • Maintain and ensure safe facility environment including standards for maintenance and upkeep of dining room area and wait stations, food production and handling, cooking, housekeeping, sanitation, dress, cash control, and employee hygiene. Notify MOD of all unusual events, circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues.

  • Greeting guests in a polite, positive manner; takes beverage orders. Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.

  • Answer questions about the menu and take food orders. Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients, and cooking methods. Suggest any menu item.

  • Manage staff appropriately to enforce standards and minimize personnel conflicts.

  • Maintain department records such as deposits, tips, and daily cash reports.

  • Performs such other related duties as directed or required.




SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE



  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Park environment experience is strongly preferred; full-service restaurant and retail supervision experiences required.

  • Barista and coffee experience and knowledge are strongly preferred.

  • Food Safety certification; strong sanitation skills; alcohol service TIPS certification.

  • Basic computer knowledge & ability including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and food service POS systems.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.

  • Lift, carry, and push up to 15 lbs. regularly, 20-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.

  • Withstand temperature extremes in freezer, walk-in refrigerator, and grill areas.

  • Able to stand for extended periods and climb stairs regularly.

  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of co-workers and the ability to speak clearly to be understood by same in English. Able to read and write work related documents in English.

  • Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.

EQUIPMENT USED



  • Food service and retail POS (Point of Sale) system including cash register and credit card terminal, combination safe

  • Beverage equipment includes coffee and espresso equipment, alcohol serving equipment, and other related equipment.

  • Typical office equipment (computer, phone system, fax, copier, scanner, etc.)




  • Required Personal Protective Equipment used: goggles and gloves
