Position Overview:Scherer Bros. Lumber Co. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our operations in Western Wisconsin. This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, driving business growth, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a background in building materials, a passion for fostering customer relationships, and a strong ability to lead and advocate for employees.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring efficiency, safety, and a high standard of service.
Manage and develop customer relationships to build loyalty and drive new business opportunities.
Oversee sales, marketing, inventory, and logistics operations to ensure smooth workflow and profitability.
Mentor, train, and advocate for employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Work closely with leadership to set and execute strategic goals and initiatives to achieve company objectives.
Maintain strong communication with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
Monitor financial performance, track KPIs, and ensure budgetary compliance.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the building materials or construction industry.
Proven leadership and management skills with experience in managing teams and driving operational success.
Strong understanding of the lumber and building materials industry, including trends, products, and customer needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong customer and employee relationships.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to problem-solve effectively and efficiently.
Experience in sales, marketing, and business development within the industry.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a focus on detail and quality.
