About the Role:

The Charge Capture and Reconciliation Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of billing processes within the healthcare services industry. This position is responsible for capturing all relevant charges for services rendered and reconciling discrepancies to optimize revenue cycle management. The specialist will work closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure that all charges are accurately documented and submitted in a timely manner. By maintaining meticulous records and conducting thorough audits, the specialist will help to minimize revenue loss and enhance financial performance. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the healthcare organization, ensuring that patients receive the care they need while the organization remains financially viable.

We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full-Time, Charge Capture & Reconciliation Specialist at our Allied Digestive Health Corporate Office in West Long Branch, NJ.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Finance, or a related field or Associate's Degree with equivalent experience


• At least 2 years of experience in charge capture, billing, or revenue cycle management within a healthcare setting.


• Strong understanding of medical coding and billing regulations.


• Strong experience and knowledge with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables/v-lookup)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in Data Analytics


• Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (CPC, CRC, CCS, or equivalent) a plus.


• Experience with AthenaOne a plus.


• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.


• Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate charge capture for all services provided.


• Perform regular reconciliations of charges and payments to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.


• Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation and ensure compliance with billing regulations.


• Prepare and submit accurate billing claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims.


• Generate reports on charge capture and reconciliation activities to support financial analysis and decision-making.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in medical coding, which are essential for accurately capturing charges and reconciling accounts. Effective communication skills are also crucial, as the specialist will need to collaborate with various departments to ensure proper documentation and compliance. Additionally, problem-solving skills will be utilized to address any issues that arise during the reconciliation process.
