This role is an exciting opportunity to be a key contributor to Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) evidence generation at a high growth organization. As an HEOR intern/co-op you will be involved in supporting evidence generation and launch deliverables across Moderna's respiratory programs that are leveraging cutting-edge mRNA science to create transformative medicines for patients.
The intern/co-op will get an exciting opportunity to witness and contribute to launching products globally. The intern/co-op will have a chance to implement the academic learning into practice across key HEOR-related areas of retrospective studies, economic modeling and patient reported outcomes. The intern will work with product and technical leads across the HEOR team to generate evidence to support the differentiated value proposition for Moderna's vaccines through targeted literature reviews, value dossier updates, analysis of observational data including electronic health and claims data, and parameterization of health economic models.
You must be available, and onsite, for the entire duration of the program.
Here's What You'll Do:
Learn how HEOR evidence is used across key stakeholders including National Immunization Technology Advisory Groups (NITAGs) and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies globally
Support parameterization of health economic models by identifying key epidemiologic and cost parameters
Support quality control (QC) of health economic models, including cost effectiveness and budget impact models, across key markets
Develop training tools for health economic models for use across cross-functional teams
Lead or support analyses using observational data including electronic health and/or claims data
Conduct targeted literature reviews and identify knowledge gaps to support value propositions for mRNA products
Maintain an up-to-date competitor intelligence report on HEOR publication strategy and derive insights on competitor value messages and product positioning
Conduct research to inform patient reported outcomes strategy in pivotal trials of pipeline assets
Participate in cross-functional discussions with other teams including ID Epidemiology, Real World Evidence Analytics, Market Access & Pricing, and Global Medical affairs on evidence generation strategies and value propositions
Here's what You'll Bring to the Table:
Currently enrolled in a PhD, MPH, MS program in health economics, epidemiology, public health, outcomes research, or a related field
Prior experience with health economic modeling and data analysis of electronic health records and/or claims data preferred
Advanced skills with Excel and Visual Basic programming. Familiarity with R and prior experience developing health economic models is a plus
Excellent communication skills, strong oral/written presentation skills
Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced environment
