Job Summary

The Quality Engineering Manager will lead the quality engineering team in ensuring product quality and compliance within an electronics manufacturing environment. This role involves developing and implementing quality control processes, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and customer requirements. The Quality Engineering Manager will work cross-functionally with design, production, and supply chain teams to drive quality excellence and improve manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the quality engineering team to support production, supplier quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive quality improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and external quality issues.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality standards and drive supplier quality improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct and oversee internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support new product introductions (NPI) and ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) principles are followed.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing tools to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce defects.
  • Lead customer quality issue resolution, including managing customer complaints, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), 8D problem-solving, and Kaizen events.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and competitive advantage.
  • Develop and oversee training programs for employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, 8D, PPAP, and APQP.
  • Experience with auditing processes, supplier quality management, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and ability to drive process improvements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Proficiency in quality-related software and tools (e.g., Minitab, statistical analysis software, ERP systems).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Lead Auditor are a plus.
