$52,032 - $88,611 per year

JOB SUMMARY:

Ensure adequate supply of products and services that enable organizational effectiveness. Make corporate purchases of products, equipment, and services within established guidelines. Analyze changes or new offerings in products or services and make recommendations to reduce costs and improve quality. Interpret and enforce corporate purchasing policies and guidelines. Monitor and maintain purchasing systems and train corporate staff on systems and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :


  • Make and coordinate purchases of products, equipment, and services.
  • Negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on budget and schedule requirements.
  • Manage, maintain, and identify process improvements of purchasing information systems.
  • Train employees on systems and policies.
  • Maintain approved buyer, signer, and preferred vendor lists.
  • Manage assigned procurement categories (examples: Uniforms, Printer/Copy Machines etc.).
  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret and enforce corporate purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Partner with Accounting Department to improve processes related to timely payment of products and services.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver management reports and data analytics.
  • Ensure insurance requirements are met for new suppliers.
  • Promote corporate team environment related to corporate purchasing.
  • Manage special projects or other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager.
  • Work within and promote corporate values.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer skills to navigate and maintain business systems.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Ability to create or learn to create reports in Power BI and/or other Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Presentation skills sufficient to conduct group training sessions.
  • Conceptual understanding of purchasing software and integration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional business relationships with vendors and internal staff.
  • High standards of professional knowledge and ethical behavior.
  • Communication skills sufficient to work with vendors/suppliers, purchasing agents and internal and external clients.
  • Must be detail oriented to implement new procedures and understand operating systems.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
  • Ability to travel to all Empire locations multiple times per year.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Associates degree in business related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years purchasing experience.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
