Wood is recruiting for an Ethics & Compliance Advisor to join our Ethics & Compliance Team. This is a hybrid opportunity, and it is based out of our Park Ten campus in Houston. This role supports the Compliance Counsel West in providing business ethics advice within the Western Hemisphere.

This role is responsible for supporting Wood's Ethics & Compliance function by delivering business ethics guidance, monitoring compliance processes, and assisting in risk analysis. The Compliance Advisor will provide training, conduct ethics investigations, and support the Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC) Programme. The role also involves managing third-party due diligence, handling compliance aspects of commercial contracts, and monitoring external legislative developments.

RESPONSIBILITIES



- Support the delivery of Wood's Ethics & Compliance (E&C) training and communications plan, including drafting Ethics Moments, articles, and content for E&C management system implementation
- Assist with risk analysis, risk workshops, and engagement planning for the Compliance Counsel West's business function engagement program
- Plan and implement online and in-person business ethics training sessions
- Monitor and close complaints made via the Ethics Helpdesk
- Support the delivery of Wood's Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC) Programme and other improvement programs
- Conduct/support ethics and compliance investigations, including drafting reports and supporting disciplinary processes
- Perform third-party due diligence and advise on risk-responsive project controls
- Respond to due diligence requests and review compliance sections of commercial contracts
- Provide compliance guidance on business partners, joint ventures, and project opportunities
- Oversee conflicts of interest and gifts & hospitality processes
- Monitor external legislative and enforcement developments in anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws

Expected:
- Qualified attorney preferred, though non-legally qualified candidates with relevant experience in ethics, compliance, or audit roles are welcome
- Strong academic record
- Prior experience in-house or with a law firm in regulatory compliance, trade, or corporate governance
- Awareness of national and international laws related to ABAC, AML, fraud, and competition
- Knowledge of corporate governance frameworks and internal controls
- Proficiency in legal IT systems, case management, and eDiscovery tools
- Experience managing investigations and working with external specialists such as forensic accountants
- Experience in sectors such as oil & gas, engineering, or extractives is an asset
