Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Ophthamology Technician for the Pensacola, Florida location.
Position Overview
Nemours is seeking an Ophthamology Technician to join our pediatric specialty care team. The Ophthalmology Technician provides individualized, age appropriate, culturally competent, goal directed, and family centered care in the Pediatric Ophthalmological clinic. The Ophthalmology Technician completes thorough medical histories and performs ophthalmological testing and ancillary procedures. They are responsible for gathering all patient information, performing preliminary eye function testing and preparing the patient for the physician.
Primary Responsibilities
Accurately collects health care data and documents appropriate information in patient record.
Proficient with all basic testing techniques and equipment, to include a full patient work up, ancillary testing with OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, IOL master, topography and other testing requested by the physician
Independently perform and accurately document standard testing procedures.
Provides safe and effective patient/family care. Maintains a safe environment for patients, families, visitors, and employees.
Ensures proper function of equipment
Strong communication skills are required. Must have the ability to work well with others. Ability to work independently and engage in critical thinking to improve the quality of care
Qualifications
High School Diploma Required
AHA Basic Life Support Certification required
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician preferred
Minimum of three months experience required
