Compensation:
Coordinate volunteer communications, scheduling, logistics and appreciation for Audubon’s Jay Watch community science program, including fielding issues.
Lead event planning for surveys, trainings, and appreciation events for Jay Watch.
Coordinate volunteer communications, recruitment, scheduling, training, evaluation and appreciation for the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey.
Assist the VP, Florida with the tracking of progress for Audubon Assembly conference planning and implementation team while holding team members, vendors and partners, accountable to deadlines and deliverables.
Serve as lead event planner for Audubon Florida’s annual state conference, the Audubon Assembly, and liaison to the conference facility, vendors and partners.
Serve as the main point of contact for event set up, facilities and registration.
Co-create materials with the communications team for volunteer recruitment and retention, and events.
Occasionally support the Chapters Conservation Manager with special projects related to the Conservation Leadership Initiative.
Occasionally assist with admissions or other operational duties at the Center for Birds of Prey.
Maintains and fosters culture of safety.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, natural resource management, nonprofit administration, human resources management, project management, or other relevant field required; An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
3+ years’ experience working with customer service, education, engagement, or other public-facing responsibilities.
Experience working in conservation a plus.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to relate to and communicate with staff, volunteers, vendors, and the community.
Experience with event planning.
Strong organizational skills and flexibility, with demonstrated experience overseeing complex or multiple projects through to success.
A self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Must have strong judgement and decision-making skills and take initiative where appropriate.
Excellent work ethic, a team-focused attitude, and the ability to problem solve.
Positive attitude and professional work ethic; prompt, trustworthy, and reliable.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift 20 lbs., such as, but not limited to, lifting boxes, coolers, moving chairs, setting up tables and displays with or without accommodation.
Willingness to occasionally work on weekends.
Valid driver’s license required.
