In this role, the DWH Operating Partner oversees and supports portfolio companies, working closely with company leadership to implement strategic initiatives, drive operational improvements, and create value. The Technical Sales & Program Manager will join our growing team. This role combines technical expertise with relationship management and sales abilities. The ideal candidate will work directly with customers, suppliers, sales representatives, and portfolio company leaders to identify opportunities, manage programs, and ensure successful project execution.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
Collaborate with sales representatives to qualify opportunities and develop winning solutions
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and technical requirements
Work with other portfolio company leaders to understand capabilities and capacity
Identify new business opportunities and contribute to company growth strategies
Technical and Program Management
Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine manufacturing requirements
Match manufacturing opportunities with appropriate suppliers, whether within the portfolio or external partners
Manage program timelines, deliverables, and customer expectations
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality requirements are met
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation
Supply Chain Management
Build and maintain relationships with both internal (portfolio companies) and external suppliers
Evaluate supplier capabilities and performance
Coordinate with suppliers on quotes, capacity, and delivery schedules
Manage supplier communications and issue resolution
Firm Focused
Participate in firm development activities, business development, and developing intellectual property for the firm
Maintain related systems and documentation
Innovate through the development of new tools, methodologies, and approaches
Participate in recruiting and staff development
Contribute to internal functions such as committees, protocol development, or other activities as requested

Technical background or aptitude in various manufacturing processes including metal fabrication, circuit card assembly, tooling, and machine shop workflows to better serve client needs and translate requirements accurately
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, supply chain, or other relevant field
Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and sales representatives
Knowledge of CNC machining, fabrication, electronics, and other manufacturing processes
Experience with ERP systems and project management tools
10+ years of experience managing complex supply chains, customer contracts, and negotiations with customers and suppliers

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment. The noise level is usually quiet to loud. Normal office conditions are expected. However, work is also often done in a client’s or suppliers’ facility, which may be an office or a factory. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and teleconference equipment. Must be comfortable in customer-facing, supplier-facing, and shop-floor environments
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods and regularly required to stand and walk. The Employee must be able to focus on computer screens for extensive periods. Must be able to lift to 25 pounds on occasion
Travel: This position will require travel to visit customers, suppliers, and portfolio companies
