Summary:



Install and remove molds from the molding presses and support the Molding Department in producing parts that meet customer requirements.



Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and follow Work Instructions, Manufacturing Procedures and Job Instruction Sheets


• Set up molding parameters and auxiliary equipment from the Mold Set-up Sheet or MICB.


• Be familiar with all facets of Molding machines and auxiliary equipment.


• Ensure a Mold Set-up sheet or MICB as well as a Molding Process Specification sheet and JIS are present at every machine and verify that process settings are validated.


• Clean molds and spray with rust inhibitor.


• Prepare tool condition reports.


• Make adjustments to Molding machines and auxiliary equipment as necessary within the process validation tolerances to produce parts that meet specifications.


• Maintain records as necessary.


• Report any tool modification that is necessary.


• Submit new parts to QA Department and Engineering.


• Train new Mold Setters and Material Handlers.


• Perform other duties as assigned by the Molding Department supervision.


• Adhere to all Atrion policies including safety, attendance, and personal hygiene requirements per the Atrion Employee Handbook.

• Math skills including the ability to apply common concepts such as fractions, percentages, etc.

• Ability to communicate effectively


• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus


• Computer skills including email and Microsoft Office applications


• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Education:

• High School Diploma.


• One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:



Regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Frequent reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling and crouching, or crawling, and talking or hearing. Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance.


Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.



Work Environment:



The work environment described here is representative of that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in and around electric injection molding machines daily. Employee will interact with others in the same work area. The noise level is typically moderate loud.
