Location: Warren, PA

Salary: $95,000.00 USD Annually - $110,000.00 USD Annually

Description: Our small manufacturing client is currently seeking a Director of Supply Chain who will oversee the Planning, Scheduling, Warehousing, Transportation, Customer Service and Purchasing so that the plant can consistently achieve its targeted customer service levels with a minimum investment in inventories and distribution costs. This position will work as a communication liaison between the Supply Chain functions and manufacturing and sales through proactively communicating and/or resolving issues related to service, scheduling, and deployment.


This position position will be open because the current director is being redeployed to another segment of the company. There would be 4 direct reports with 6 indirect who report to those 4. 2 in purchasing, 1 scheduler/planner, and 1 warehouse supervisor.


This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Directs the Supply Chain functions of Planning, Scheduling, Warehousing, Transportation, Customer Service and Purchasing.


• Works as a communication liaison between the Supply Chain functions and manufacturing and sales through proactively communicating and resolving service issues and/or meeting business and customer needs.


• Responsible for a distribution strategy in support of achieving Company's target customer service levels with a minimum investment in inventories and at the lowest possible cost.


• Responsible for business continuity of the plant.


• Oversees purchasing and inventory of ingredients, packaging and commodities, managing risk of obsolescence versus supply shortage.


• Directs all distribution and logistics activities at the plant and dedicated off-site warehouses including managing labor costs, productivity, inventory levels, inventory accuracy, and stocking strategies.


• Maintain controls and procedures to ensure optimum use of a warehouse locator system to maintain order accuracy and timeliness.


• Works with plant operations to identify opportunities to improve production cycles in order to reduce working capital while also maintaining or lowering total net landed costs.


• Directs the traffic function and takes appropriate action to ensure that carriers meets company requirements.


• Prepares budgets and controls costs within established standards.


• Serves as a member of the plant leadership team in support of plant goals.


• Supports annual planning process for designated brands.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business, or related area
  
  


• Specific Skills: Firsthand experience in utilizing traditional and/or automate on-line strategic sourcing process including RFQ/RFI creation. Strong understanding of MRP and material management.
  
  


• Experience: 5+ years in Supply Chain, Distribution Management, Planning or Inventory Control in the food industry
  
  


• Must be Experienced procurement professional
  
  


• Proven leadership managing Supply Planning Team
  
  


• Travel as required (< 25% of the time).
  
  


• Ability to mentor and train others.
  
  


• Innovative skill set - advanced
  
  


• Strong computer and analytical skills with focus on Excel
  
  


• Ability to interpret a variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  
  


• Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures.

• Experience Leading 3-5-year capacity planning process
