Job Overview:


The Quality Specialist will be responsible for planning and directing activities related to the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products. This role operates within a Union/Just-In-Time (JIT) environment.


Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting: Provide daily feedback on defects to management and production staff.


• Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve work issues or assist employees in resolving them.


• Inspection: Verify product conformance to specifications and address machinery maintenance issues.


• Efficiency Improvement: Recommend measures to enhance production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.


• Defective Material Management: Contain and sort defective materials.


• Communication: Relay shop floor issues and defects to the appropriate personnel for corrective action.


• Inspection Scheduling: Establish inspection and testing schedules for new product launches.


• Customer Liaison: Act as the liaison between this facility and the GM Fort Wayne assembly plant.


• Standards Compliance: Apply and audit IATF16949 procedures.


• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement activities.


• Team Model: Learn and implement the self-directed work team model.


• Procedures Compliance: Follow ISO14001 and IATF16949 procedures and processes.


• Quality Objectives: Ensure adherence to quality policies, procedures, and processes to achieve quality management objectives.

Education and Experience:

• Actively pursuing an associate degree (AA/AS) in a related field.
