Coordinate projects for the Logistics department using the RRS America Program Office (PGO) and LEAN framework, project management methodology and tools
Review current Logistics processes and develop improvement projects focused on driving schedule, scope and cost to meet specified targets
Coordinate projects to review RRS America's supply chain, identify strengths and weaknesses, and develop improvement plans for the overall supply chain, based on audits, observation and company data
Assist management in the creation of presentations and reports for senior management meetings
Work closely with other departments to improve communication, efficiencies and throughput
Develop and maintain a process for keeping logistics related documentation up to date
Anticipate potential schedule delays and initiate plans for corrective actions
Advise and report to management on project status, potential problems, results and suggestions for improvement on a regular basis
Track the project portfolio, facilitate review meetings, prepare meeting minutes and follow up on open items as needed
Establish project metrics to demonstrate effectiveness and sustainability of changes/improvements resulting from project implementation
Maintain standardized and centralized project tracking source, including resources and guidance for future projects
Ensure process maps are updated with changes stemming from project implementations, per latest ISO standards
Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
Perform special projects as required
Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Materials Management, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management and 3 years of experience in project management, supply chain management or material control; or 7 years of experience in project management, supply chain management or material control.
Preferred:
Strong knowledge of logistics, material movement and warehousing procedures, as well as an understanding of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and overall campus requirements
Strong organization, planning and follow up skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time with competitive needs and deadlines
Strong knowledge of company software suits and tracking applications
Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills when issues are complex
Strong ability to work independently and with little management direction
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
Strong oral presentation and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of business process, procedures and terminology
Ability to work under unusual or extreme pressure
Ability to travel - domestic and international
Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
