Job Description:

Investigates and determines user process and data requirements for MES & Digital Factory functional areas. Communicates the requirements to the technology team lead and the IT manager for feasibility and timing development. Along with the technology team lead, recommends courses of action to the functional area steering committee for inclusion into the implementation plan, then implements those actions in accordance with the plan. Capable of performing basic system administration and understanding out of the box system capabilities. Creates business processes documentation, to include process flows, test scripts and user training guides.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key participant in cross-functional business and IT team with the responsibility to define user needs for the MES & Digital Factory functions. Produce as-is process maps of current business practices through team interviews with process owners and users. Produce recommended optimized process maps of business practices with input from process owners and users. Determine user requirements for configuration and presentation of the MES & Digital Factory solutions through interviews with functional, program specific, or role specific user groups. Translate the output of process mapping and user requirements to the technology team lead, IT Manager and together develop cost and timing impact of requirements. Help Prepare proposed implementation initiatives to the appropriate steering committee for approval. Responsible for oversight of implementation of approved action items, including training and user satisfaction. Responsible for creating the lessons learned during each stage of the implementation for use in subsequent planning and execution of the implementation plan. Responsible for monitoring solution metrics and developing continuous improvement initiatives for the solutions. Responsible for any special projects or assignments as agreed upon to support the MES & Digital Factory. Continually seeks self-education in computer system and administration methods, and utilizes books, manuals and resource aids to their fullest potential. Maintains technical expertise in area of responsibility. Develops and maintains process documentation for existing and proposed processes. Provide On-going production support for existing MES & Digital Factory solutions.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, engineering or information technology related. 6 to 10 years of experience working in discrete manufacturing industry. Must have knowledge of group facilitation and interaction skills, experience preferred. Must have knowledge of business process mapping and optimization skills, experience preferred. Must have presentation skills. Basic knowledge of Automotive MES & Digital Factory Process required. Basic knowledge of any out-of-the box Tools/Applications preferred. Knowledge of SAP is preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Good organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively, self motivated, and works with some direct supervision. Excellent communications skills required to interact with both IT resources as well as business users, located in multiple departments. Requires the ability to give clear verbal and written information geared to specific audiences. Must act as a liaison between the business and IT to define, design, and implement solutions. Must have the ability to absorb information quickly and make decisions as to how to proceed with each issue based on its own merit. Must have good analytical and problem solving abilities. Ability to understand out of the box packaged software functionality, and perform basic administration tasks, after attending appropriate vendor provided training.

REQUIRED DECISION-MAKING AND ORGANIZATION IMPACT:

Decisions made will generally have significant impact on system availability and business processes. Decisions should be reviewed with supervision before action is taken. May at times, due to the nature of the duties performed, come in contact with confidential information. Is responsible for guarding against the disclosure of such information to unauthorized personnel. Must reflect a courteous and professional attitude and be able to communicate with all levels of the company personnel as well as Cooper-Standard Automotive customers and vendors.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

This position will report to the Senior IT Project Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Travel is expected at 25 -50%, with most out of area travel being specific for project milestones, such as user training. 1-2 trips per year to outside Europe could also be possible to coordinate with team members in any Cooper Standard Facility. 40-45 hours of professional work expected each week, with working hours between 7:30 A.M. and 5:30 P.M. Maybe required to work off shift hours depending upon the project. This position will be based onsite at any Cooper Standard Facility.
