Colonial Oil Industries, Inc. (COI) is one of the largest independent oil companies in the Southeast and has been serving the region since 1921. With strategic ocean terminals in Savannah, GA, Charleston, SC, and Jacksonville, FL, along with numerous terminals along the Colonial and Plantation Pipeline, COI has an extensive network to supply gasoline and diesel fuel to the Southeast. POSITION SUMMARY

The Inside Sales role is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new leads, quoting, and winning bids, transactional and 3rd party business, identifying and closing share of wallet opportunities, and regaining lost customer business. This role will also include being the primary point of contact for a specific set of customers and requires maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction by being available as needed.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

  • Prospecting: Research and identify potential customer leads for qualification across all sales verticals
  • Negotiation: Skillfully negotiate pricing and terms to win and maintain business across multiple verticals.
  • Relationship Building: Establish rapport with customers and prospects through effective communication and active listening. Engage with customers no longer purchasing to understand business change with intent of regaining customer.
  • Product/Service knowledge: understand the COI Edge and how to leverage opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Proposal Development: Assist in contract bid analysis and proposals.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and sales activities in our CRM system.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, customer experience, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through customer interaction to appropriate external sales colleagues.
  • Participate in Lubricant product training to be a resource for Customer Experience team.
  • Other assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful inside sales or sales support experience; in a chemical or commodities industry preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to successfully execute multiple projects at a time and achieve goals in a continuously changing work environment with little supervision.
  • Ability to develop new customer relationships and sustain existing relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent judgement through effective and creative problem solving.
  • Must be able to exude an upbeat and positive attitude while being assertive and professional in all verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and customer relationship development skills.
