Aurora University seeks talented adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are qualified part-time instructors offered teaching opportunities based on course demand and staffing.

Aurora University Online is looking for adjunct faculty to teach in the Doctor of Education program (EdD).

Teaching Responsibilities

AU Online faculty should be present and engaged in courses by doing the following:

• Regular activity and presence in the classroom through the learning management system (at least four days a week, with one day on Saturday or Sunday) as an active and guiding participant, including discussion forums.


• Host regular, scheduled weekly synchronous virtual office hours.


• Meet weekly grading deadlines and maintain up-to-date gradebooks.


• Be responsive to student email messages and requests for assistance.


• Provide mentorship in the discipline and content expertise.


• Respond to all university and departmental requests, emails, messages, and correspondence.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctorate degree required.


• Familiarity with workplace-level institutional diversity such as creating or leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for an organization.


• Backgrounds in various fields such as HR, registrar, or social work, with a strong focus on institutional-level diversity initiatives.


• Experience teaching online.


• Background in institutional diversity in higher education is preferred.

Work Hours

This is an asynchronous online program. Faculty members are expected to be engaged in the online course no fewer than four days per week, one of those days on the weekend. A weekly one-hour synchronous office hour hosted in Zoom is also required.

Salary Information

The anticipated pay rate for this position is $1,000 per credit hour. This compensation is subject to change at the sole discretion of the university, based on institutional needs. The pay rate referenced in the job posting is the budgeted amount that the university reasonably expects to pay for this position. The final pay rate will not be below the lowest pay rate listed herein.
