Job Summary
The Director, Logistics and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the supply chain, ensuring that logistics management aligns seamlessly with organizational goals. This position entails a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including the strategizing and execution of logistics planning and operations, as well as the oversight of warehouse and inventory management systems. The Director, Logistics and ERP will be tasked with the continuous optimization of distribution processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
In addition, this leader must demonstrate exceptional analytical capabilities and strategic planning skills, enabling them to develop innovative solutions that streamline logistics operations and improve overall supply chain performance. They will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure effective communication and coordination across all levels of the organization. Furthermore, they will utilize ERP systems to integrate data, forecast trends, and drive decision-making. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential, as this role requires managing teams and fostering relationships with partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to achieve the highest levels of operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Strategy: Establish strategic logistics planning including setting supply chain KPIs for productivity, speed, and order accuracy.
Metrics: Define actionable metrics, data, and insights to meet and improve service performance.
Planning: Developing logistics plans, including forecasting demand and optimizing inventory levels.
Operations: Managing the day-to-day operations of logistics, including transportation, scheduling, distribution, and delivery.
Compliance: Ensuring the company follows all rules and regulations regarding transportation and distribution.
Vendor management: Choosing service vendors and negotiating rates.
Warehouse management: Organizing the warehouse function.
Carrier management: Managing relationships with carriers.
Budgeting: Developing and managing the logistics budget.
Collaboration: Working with internal leaders to identify business goals.
Conduct periodic service reviews.
Leverages technical knowledge and industry trends to provide ongoing process improvement and develop business opportunities.
Develop and maintain technology-based capability roadmaps.
Support new product introductions (phase-ins/phase-outs) and engineering/revision changes with sales, production team, and supplying plant to meet customer requirements while minimizing obsolescence risk.
Work closely with customers and suppliers to solve shortages or short lead-time requirements.
Manage customer and supplier packaging.
Create, maintain, and modify workflows and configurations and create value stream maps.
Drive the continuous development and improvement of methods, standards & tools for process & system management.
Use ERP system to determine items to be ordered, generate purchase requisitions and production orders, and follow up on changes.
Communicate and enforce HAZMAT rules and regulations.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Support organizational change management in all business process-related projects.
Ensure team compliance with the company's change management policies and procedures.
Support deployment of ERP system rollouts.
Provide technical support related to system performance issues.
Work with a broad team to troubleshoot system issues and work with our ERP vendors to resolve them.
Manage level three (3) support for ERP system needs.
Maintain an active awareness of the company's business environments, corporate culture, and structure to support key decision-making.
Understand and manage service risks.
Support continuous improvement functional integration processes of ERP with Sales, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, EDI, Eng BOM, Routing, PM, Warehouse, Shipping, and Planning modules.
Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, transportation, economics, business administration, project management, or a related field
Master's degree in related field preferred
Ten (10) years of progress leadership experience in logistics, supply chain or related field
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with ERP systems.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industry-related field
Proven ability to design and execute a supply chain strategy
Proven ability to consistently deliver on KPIs
Working knowledge of logistics software and warehouse management systems
Strong negotiation, interpersonal, written and oral skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Must be detail-oriented
Working knowledge and solid understanding of Lean practices.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety, environmental, and facility regulations.
