Part-Time Faculty Leadership and Business Management Salary: $5000 - $6000 per 5-credit ClassClassification: Adjunct FacultyThis position reports to: Associate Dean of Corrections Education
Olympic College (OC) is seeking a
Part-time Faculty Leadership and Business Management to teach courses in Leadership and Business Management at the Washington Corrections Center for Women (WCCW) and Mission Creek Corrections Center for Women (MCCCW). Working with the incarcerated individuals is very rewarding - your teaching will have an incredible impact!
This role requires in-person instruction, as hybrid or online teaching is not available within these facilities.Faculty members must be assessed for Department of Corrections (DOC) badging to enter the facilities and daily will pass through security checks upon each entry. For security, DOC employeesare prohibited from bringing personal cell phones into the facilities; personal devices must be secured in lockers at public access points. You must be able to pass an NCIC background check to bebadged. This is a condition of employment.Essential Functions


  • Prepare and teach Leadership and Business Management courses in accordance with the college catalog, course outlines, syllabi, and departmental guidelines.

  • Deliver face-to-face instruction at WCCW and/or MCCCW, adhering to Department of Corrections (DOC) policies and procedures.

  • Assist in developing course schedules aligned with facility movement times.

  • Write infractions for students who violate DOC policies, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.

  • Provide quality teaching, including preparation, grading, and record-keeping; distribute class syllabi to students and the division office each quarter.

  • Contribute to the development of program curriculum and student learning outcomes.

  • Attend Corrections Division and Department meetings.

  • Perform related duties as assigned and/or required.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:


  • Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in leadership, management, business, or a related field.

  • Three years of successful college teaching experience, particularly in community colleges or related training environments.

  • Proficient in using computers and the ability to learn new instructional technologies.

  • Strong mastery of program course content.

  • Ability to design and implement college-level program curriculum, aligning with college program requirements.

  • Proficiency in employing diverse teaching methods to engage a wide range of students including military veterans.

  • Skill in accommodating accessibility needs through course materials and activities.

  • Collaborative mindset and teamwork capabilities.

  • Competence in integrating technology, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, which may be available with limitations during class.

  • Diligence in maintaining records and discipline standards.

  • Adaptability in instruction to ensure student success.

    Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.Faculty members must submit official, unopened transcripts to the Human Resources department within 30 days of their employment.This is a full-time faculty position contracted on an annual basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. The salary will be prorated to reflect the actual contract days remaining in the academic year. The salary listed is a range based on per month for the quarter. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department. Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite Olympic College campuses, and off-campus assignments may be a part of the instructional load.Full-Time Faculty qualifies for the following benefits.
