The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary

The Senior Engineer designs, develops, builds, and implements new products, components, or technologies by leading and executing strategic initiatives. This Senior Engineer role is responsible for product design for metal face seals manufactured or purchased finished by Caterpillar. The position will conduct NPI, CPI, and maintenance engineering work on metal face seal designs for Caterpillar products and for our OEM customers' products. The position interacts closely with our seal manufacturing plants and purchasing to insure the performance, quality, and cost competitiveness of the product line.

What You Will Do

• Research new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
  
• Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
  
• Develop and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.
  
• Participate in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  

What You Will Have (Basic Requirements)

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science
• Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. (Extensive Experience)
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. (Extensive Experience)
• Managing Multiple Priorities : Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. (Extensive Experience)
• Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. (Extensive Experience)

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
