As a Project Manager, you'll spearhead Six Sigma Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects within our Ultra Class Mining Truck Product Support Team. You will focus on projects to remove customer downtime and eliminate product defects. Imagine solving complex problems and working with the largest mining equipment in the world!
What you will do:
Lead and Manage Six Sigma Projects: Drive portfolios to achieve measurable business process improvements.
Oversee Multiple Projects: Focus on quality and design enhancements, lead cross-functional team meetings, create project plans, and implement immediate customer containment actions.
Investigate and Solve Issues: Identify root causes, facilitate the creation and validation of solutions, and ensure successful implementation in both factory and field settings.
Coordinate Resources: Collaborate with internal partners, including engineering, logistics, purchasing, value chain, and product support teams.
What skills you will have:
Project Management: Extensive experience in project management , such as CPI, 6 Sigma Black belt , etc. Able to manage risk and ambiguity on a project.
Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization. Customer focused and can drive change throughout the enterprise.
Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Six Sigma Methodology: Knowledge of the concepts of six sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) methodology; ability to use the methodology to improve the manufacturing processes and control the improvements by eliminating root causes.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Active Learning: Understanding the necessity for continuous personal growth and learning; ability to gauge one's strengths, limitations and interests accurately, and use this knowledge for purposes of performance effectiveness self-development.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintain focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
Top Candidates will also have:
Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or MBA curriculum.
Additional Information:
This position requires the candidate to work full-time in the Tucson, AZ or Decatur, IL office.
This position may require 5 % travel.

Summary Pay Range: $126,000.00 - $189,000.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
