Maintenance Mechanic at RBC Bearings in Torrington, Connecticut

Job Description:

This individual is responsible for a wide variety of maintenance, repairs and installations of machinery and plant equipment. Must be able to quickly and accurately diagnose mechanical problems and determine a course of action combined with the knowledge and skill to independently break down and reassemble any item requiring repair or replacement. Under the direction of the lead person or supervisor, this individual must repair, retrofit, or machine replacements for a wide variety of items. This person will also perform regular and preventative maintenance procedures such as but not limited to replacing lights, various filters, inspection of various equipment such as boilers, furnaces, air conditioning units, etc. Employee must also perform basic plumbing, light welding and general painting as well as simple, routine maintenance on any equipment in the plant.


The incumbent is responsible for requisitioning, through the supervisor, any tools, parts or equipment required to complete an assigned operation. This person will assist in training new employees as required and any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor. Attendance at work is an essential function of the position.
