DNV's Energy Services Group is relaunching a Co-Op Energy Engineer opportunities within our Chalfont, PA team that supports PECO's Ways to Save For Your Business, commercial and industrial energy efficiency program. Through this program, we support PECO's business customers to save energy and money through the identification and implementation of more efficient equipment. This is a 40 hour per week Co-op position.
Energy Engineer Intern - PECO Ways to Save Program
This role is based at our DNV office in Chalfont, PA, presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. Further details regarding role-specific requirements will be shared during the interview process.
What You'll Do
Reviewing and verifying technical merits of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) business customer energy efficiency applications, including calculating energy savings, and verification of equipment specifications
Typical commercial energy efficiency projects may involve improvements to lighting, HVAC equipment, central plant systems and building automation systems, improvements on process equipment and systems, such as pumps, fans, compressed air systems, boilers, furnaces, heat exchangers and process control systems
Performing technical reviews of various energy savings projects to determine eligibility for incentives and estimated energy savings in accordance with Pennsylvania Act 129.
Performing customer site inspections to verify the installation and operation of energy efficient equipment at businesses throughout the PECO service territory.
Interacting with utility customers and trade allies to address questions or concerns about qualifying equipment or specific details of the energy efficiency incentive programs
Analyzing program performance through database queries and program data analysis
Educating contractors about the program
Providing flexible support to other team members on an as-needed basis
