Innova Solutions is seeking a Sr. Risk/Loan Accounting Manager for a growing Financial Institution.

Position Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Duration: Direct Hire
Location: 100% Remote - Can ONLY work out of these states!! AL, AZ, AR, DE, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MS, MO, MT, NE, NH, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WI, WY.

***MUST have knowledge of CECL and general Loan Accounting experience.


We are seeking a Sr. Loan Accountant/Risk Analyst for this 100% REMOTE, Direct Hire role.

Ownership of all accounting-related matters regarding the credit union's loans including end-to-end management and operation of the credit union's CECL models, performing related support calculations, reconciliations and associated controls, and helping guide development of reserve methodology. Works closely with loan origination departments, senior and executive management on special projects and analyses. Department liaison/representative for both internal & external credit union projects and implementation of interdepartmental initiatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in economics, mathematics, finance, accounting or related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Five years of progressive experience in Credit Administration/Risk Management, Loan Accounting, or Finance required.
  • Two years of direct responsibility with CECL calculation within a mid-size or larger financial institution is preferred.
  • CFA, CPA, FRM, and/or PRM preferred.

  • Must have knowledge of CECL accounting standards, related regulatory guidance, and industry best practices. Must be familiar with using financial modeling applications to produce reserve calculations.
  • Capable of using advanced features within Excel and familiarity with and comfortable learning business intelligence tools such as PowerBI and SQL.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, organization, multi-tasking and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • End-to-end ownership of the allowance calculation process - executing from model estimation to communicating the Committee-approved provision expense accounting entry, with all controls and reporting between
  • Formulate strategies and methodologies to capture various economic and credit risks within the reserve, develop insights though sensitivity and scenario testing, and identify current and projected influencing factors of changes to the reserve and provision
  • Provides guidance, coaching and training to team members in alignment with organizational and departmental goals.
  • Representative at loan review committee meetings and all other loan related interdepartmental meetings and expected to offer thought leadership on loan risk related matters on a regular basis
  • Coordinates with FP&A, Data Analytics, and loan product groups for budget, forecast and projections for all aspects of the ALLL and loan loss provision (including loan charge off and recovery considerations)
  • Liaison with loan product groups, FinOps and FP&A for all new products and related accounting
  • Prepare the loan reporting sections of the quarterly Call Report, including coordination of interdepartmental source documents
  • Responsible for month-end close processes, including both preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, reports & analyses, and ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Assists with the preparation of financial documentation and reporting needed to comply with examinations by NCUA and external auditors
  • Periodically reviews processes to propose improvements or updates as needed
PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range: $110-130K - Somewhat flexible.
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
