As a GTC Sr. Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will lead trade compliance in APAC.
Key Responsibilities:
Report directly to GTC Divisional Director - MSD.
Coordinate trade compliance issues from China and other APAC divisional sites, ensuring flawless execution of global standards.
Provide leadership to divisional APAC sites, improving the knowledge and experience of trade compliance resources.
Mitigate organizational risk through proactive process management aligned with corporate policies and legal requirements.
Drive strategic direction of trade compliance processes to meet corporate risk parameters.
Ensure compliance with U.S. and local laws, and Thermo Fisher Scientific policies.
Collaborate with Commercial and Service leadership for China to balance compliance with customer and business priorities.
Develop and implement work procedures and tools to improve efficiency and consistency.
Build and deliver training programs for APAC, attending Corporate GTC Team workshops.
Interpret regulatory changes affecting APAC businesses and implement needed changes.
Analyze transfer price adjustments and develop strategies for compliance risk management.
Conduct regular meetings and training sessions, disseminating critical information within the division.
Identify and implement cost-saving strategies, including free trade agreements and tariff engineering.
Track and communicate trade compliance performance metrics for APAC sites.
Lead group projects, demonstrating strong leadership and flexibility.
Conduct global trade compliance trainings to raise awareness of trade compliance risks.
Non-negotiable Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in import and export compliance.
7-10 years of experience in trade compliance management in a multinational company.
Proven experience with global import/export activities, including US and EU export controls.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting government regulations.
Strong communication skills across all functions and senior leadership levels.
Experience in developing and delivering both in-person and virtual training.
