Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is a unique partnership that allows our customers to leverage the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits.




Key responsibilities:






  • Design and execute high throughput experimentation (HTE) using laboratory automation to solve process chemistry problems

  • Troubleshoot and optimize multi-step reaction sequences

  • Generates effective hypotheses to pursue synthesis or manufacturing goals and set new experimental direction

  • Make conceptual contributions to development activities and scientific strategies.

  • Develop novel and creative solutions to overcome synthetic and manufacturing obstacles.

  • Clearly communicate experimental results to stakeholders using multi-dimensional data analysis tools (e.g. JMP, Spotfire)

  • Maintain laboratory automation equipment and develop new protocols

  • Collaborate with synthetic project teams in a cross-functional environment

  • Author or contribute to technical documents including technical reports, regulatory submissions, patents, and scientific papers

  • Multitasks to effectively manage multiple activities/projects

  • Adhere to laboratory documentation practices, safety policies and practices



Education and Experience:






  • Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar


  • Assoc Scientist: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0-2 years')

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:






  • Experience planning, executing experiments, and interpreting analytical data (H/UPLC, NMR, MS, etc.)

  • Experience with any of the following: high throughput experimentation, laboratory automation (i.e. Chronect/QX96, Chemspeed, Unchained Labs, Hamilton, Tecan, etc.), biocatalysis, flow chemistry, cheminformatics, Python, reaction kinetic analysis

  • Desire to learn high through-put experimentation skills is a must

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
