At Meta Reality Labs we aim to bring together the brightest cross-disciplinary minds in one place to deliver on our mission: build tools that help people feel connected, anytime, anywhere. As an Electrical Engineer on the VR, AR, or a New Technology Team, you will design, build, and test prototype electrical systems for future consumer experiences within Facebook's Family of Products. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through fast iterative prototyping. You will work cross-functionally with teams that will dynamically change depending on the problem and potentially include mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and research experts. We want people who work well in teams, can take a board definition and implement with electrical schematic and layout, and can transition these designs into a high-volume consumer product. We're looking for highly skilled Electrical Engineers with experience in high volume consumer products or developing technology leading prototypes to inform Reality Lab's roadmap. You are expected to deliver value that materially changes outcomes for the company, and your job is not just about your superior technical judgment but your capacity to influence others to deliver results. You are an authority on more than one technical area, and you have experience inventing novel technologies that do not exist yet to solve problems. In this role you will be working with emerging technologies and contribute to setting up internal and industry standards for products across the AR/VR space.
Electrical Engineering Leader Responsibilities:
Own electrical development of highly complex systems delivering and ensuring that electrical systems achieve product goals while driving initiatives for higher product quality and efficiencies in your organization
Lead electrical architecture definition or provide technical leadership to a larger development team with clear understanding of the system level spec and how it translates down to the module and component level. Driving alignment across multiple XFN teams on architectural and product decisions
Design schematics, specify components, direct board layout, lead system level design reviews, Signal Integrity and Power Integrity, and the associated design trade-offs in a highly miniaturized system. Participate in the device assembly, test and debug process
Describe complex features and/or systems in detail and are capacity to communicate technical information effectively
Develop detailed understanding of the goals and strategy of your larger org and company, as well as engineering trends within the industry. You're capacity to drive the EE team's goals and technical direction, that spans generation of products with clear impact on the product roadmap
