ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operates a Robas Press in the molding of hollow core stock, solid strips, split Klozure, Chevron and other products.
Molds products in strip molds or in molds bolted to press platens.
Selects and installs own strip molds while bolted-to-platen molds are installed by set up men.
Establishes Press temperatures, cure cycles and runs orders as specified.
Prepares stock for molding which may include the application of soapstone, inserting metal rods in hollow core, calendering stock, applying lead spacers.
Uses loading board in loading parts to plate-held molds as necessary.
Performs work relative to molding operations such as trimming flash from products, cleaning molds, applying mold wash, preparing loading boards and others.
Uses small hand and power tools as required.
Performs job being alert to pressure and temperature changes and mold function.
Removes finished work to proper area.
Keeps record of production.
Sets up press for temperature, cure, preheats, bumps and raises and lowers platens as required.
Removes mold from press and pulls molded part from mold following cure and applies mold wash as required before repeating operation.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities are identical to those of Hydraulic/Mechanical Press operators as far as quality assurance duties, scrap reduction techniques, communication updates on progress of runs, data gathering, troubleshooting and finished parts inspections are concerned.
Keeps work area clean.
Performs other jobs as assigned by Supervisor.

POSTURE: standing
MAXIMUM WEIGHT TO BE LIFTED: over 30 lbs. (anything over 30# requires two people or mechanical device)
FREQUENCY PER SHIFT: up to 25%
REPETITIVE MOTION TASKS: pushing and pulling
DURATION OF SHIFT: up to 150 times/shifts
WORKING CONDITIONS: heat, seasonal variation with temperature, fumes, union environment.
