The USB Strategy team collaborates across businesses serving as a key partner to the Business Unit Presidents and their senior leadership teams. 

We are seeking a proactive and dynamic leader and strategist for the role of Director, Strategic Initiatives where you will be expected to support the development, prioritization, and implementation of a range of strategies and initiatives to drive profitable growth across our businesses.

This will be a hybrid role based out of Newark, NJ.

What you can expect:


  • Leading workstreams in business unit strategy projects as well as cross-functional strategic projects (scoping, sizing, problem solving).

  • Developing analyses and synthesizing insights (e.g., market, consumer, competitor) as inputs to drive near-term and longer-term business strategy.

  • Assessing strategic partnerships and organic/inorganic growth opportunities.

  • Build collaborative and trusted relationships across Prudential’s strategy, business development, and finance teams to ensure Prudential realizes its full potential by helping enable business outcomes.

  • Support the development of strategy documents and communication materials, including business and strategic reviews to senior leaders, including Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Operating Committees, the Board of Directors and other key constituencies.

What you'll need:


  • Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred

  • Experience in business strategy, finance, or other leadership roles, including in financial services

  • Top-notch conceptual thinking, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent presentation skills including verbal and written communication

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and influencing skills

  • Strong project and process management skills

  • Competent writer, with expertise in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Ability to summarize complex business problems and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity

  • Comfort with ambiguity

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $152,500.00 to $206,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
