As a leader of our Platform Engineering team in our NorCal market, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for crafting and delivering creative cloud solutions for our clients. Your duties will include designing, building, and automating cost-effective, resilient, and secure cloud-based applications, as well as migration & modernization of existing workloads to public clouds.
What You'll Do
Lead a team of Cloud & Platform engineering consultants towards high-quality and high-value delivery.
Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise on cloud architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations.
Identify and assess client needs, challenges, and opportunities, and propose innovative and cost-effective cloud solutions.
Mentor and coach junior cloud consultants and engineers and foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Participate in pre-sales activities and manage revenue on sold work.
Stay updated on the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in the cloud domain, and share knowledge and insights with internal and external audiences.
Support business development activities, such as proposal writing, presentation delivery, and contract negotiation including working with partners.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives, business owners, and technical teams.
Lead and manage complex cloud transformation projects for clients across various industries and domains.
Gather technical requirements, assess client capabilities, and analyze findings to provide appropriate solution recommendations and adoption strategies.
Architect solutions across a variety of languages, ensuring the ability to work across various programming environments and tackle complex technical challenges.
What You'll Bring
At least 10 years of experience in IT consulting, with at least 5 years of experience in architecting and delivering cloud-based solutions in various industries.
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience within the AWS ecosystem, including experience with MAP (Migration and Modernization Acceleration Program), with secondary experience in GCP or Azure, ensuring comprehensive cloud solutions across multiple platforms.
Proficient in cloud-native technologies, such as Kubernetes, containers, microservices, serverless, DevSecOps, CI/CD, etc.
Prior experience in software development with Golang, Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, ideally with additional experience with Java (or any object-oriented language), React (or any front-end facing language).
Proficient in infrastructure & operations, such as Active Directory, networking, storage management, performance tuning, capacity planning, cost optimization, and IT budgeting.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a client-facing environment.
A curious mindset and ability to work in ambiguous environments.
Experience in developing solution offerings or accelerators in a consulting environment strongly preferred.
Prior people management experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.The base salary pay range is $145,000 - $225,000 and the targeted base salary range is $170,000 - $200,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
