Description: Our client is currently seeking a high level Operations Candidate for their Manufacturing Facility near Bardstown, KY:
General Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of VFM's manufacturing facility, including production operations, quality control, safety, maintenance, budgeting, purchasing and all staff management, ensuring efficient production processes, meeting quality standards, and achieving production targets while maximizing profitability and adhering to company policies and industry regulations; essentially leading the entire manufacturing operation from a strategic and day-to-day perspective. This position reports directly to the General Mgr. / COO
Production Planning and Scheduling Management
-Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand, including managing production schedules, assigning tasks, and optimizing workflow.
-Oversee daily production activities to meet production targets.
-Monitor production processes, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
Quality Assurance
Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Engineering and Maintenance
Develop and execute engineering of equipment and process to ensure product compliance and best cost practices
Inventory Management
Monitor and control raw materials and finished goods inventory levels to avoid stockouts and minimize carrying costs.
Cost Management
-Analyze production costs, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-saving measures
Supply Chain / Purchasing Management
-Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, manage supplier relationships and cost negotiations
Employee Supervision
- Lead and motivate production teams, office and all VFM personnel by providing training, monitor performances, and address employee concerns.
Safety Compliance
-Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures within the production facility, promoting a culture of safety among employees
Performance Monitoring
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production volume, efficiency, quality, and cost to identify areas for improvement.
Reporting and Analysis
- Regularly communicate production and overall operational status and updates to executive/corporate management, identify potential issues, and propose solutions.
Continuous improvement
- Drive initiatives to implement lean manufacturing practices and other process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
