JOB SUMMARY

Within the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security Department (EHSS) at the Ripon, CA location, the Corporate Environmental Manager directs the implementation and oversight of all environmental compliance programs as they apply across all TWG locations. These programs include, but are not limited to: supply water, winery wastewater, stormwater, air permitting (mobile and stationary sources), refrigeration management programs, pesticide use, and hazardous materials programs such as the California Accidental Release Program (Cal ARP), Risk Management Plan (RMP) Program, and Process Safety Management (PSM) Program. Job functions can also include engineering project management and implementation for infrastructure projects designed to support environmental regulatory compliance. Additionally, the Corporate Environmental Manager serves as the critical internal lead on environmental sustainability programs and certifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Serve as a technical EHSS resource to all TWG personnel.

  • Analyze, interpret, and understand laws and regulations enacted by State, Local, and Federal Agencies, their impact on the company’s operations and provide recommendations to implement cost effective compliance.

  • Directly supervise junior Environmental Compliance/Engineering staff within the EHSS Department with a strong focus on career and professional development.

  • Train and provide guidance to management teams on environmental regulations and internal management programs as they apply to their respective locations.

  • Recommend ways of decreasing pollutants and waste and bring new technology to the attention of management that will allow more cost-efficient waste and resource management.

  • Responsible for timely and accurate regulatory compliance reporting.

  • Attend, participate and represent the company in government or private committees and industry groups in the process of formulating balanced laws and regulations affecting environmental matters.

  • Work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary corporate level EHSS department to develop, implement, audit, and continuously improve environmental compliance programs.

  • Evaluate the most appropriate solution to problems and challenges, either well defined by regulation, or creative and non-traditional, and provide proper follow through to ensure the solution is completed in an effective and timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must be 18 years or older at time of hire.

  • Must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, or related science.

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience working in an environmental compliance role, 10 years preferred.

  • Possess a strong working knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.

  • Must possess a valid California State Driver’s License.

  • Must have an excellent safety record.

  • Must be able to read, fully comprehend, and implement requirements of laws, regulations, and technical documents.

  • Must be willing to continue to upgrade professional competence by attending appropriate seminars, meetings, and trainings.

  • Must display a high proficiency in computer, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to travel frequently between facilities, industry meeting/events which may require overnight stay.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team/crew environment, adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in an office environment.

  • Working environment is both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to related equipment and noise levels.

COMPENSATION


  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $115,900 - $173,900.

  • Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position related factors.
