Job Description:

The Successful Candidate is responsible for the preparation of material lists, quotes, specifications, compliance documentation and/or acoustic design diagrams relating to system equipment and coordinating with project managers, customer support, operations, and customers.

Key Activities/Responsibilities:


  • Possesses a strong understanding of the warning siren/PAGA systems to accurately assess job requirements and develop solution with end customer, engineering firms, sales team, etc.

  • Performs on-site visits to ensure that the engineered system and equipment meet the engineering specifications and customer requirements.

  • Works with necessary FS personnel and FS Reps to develop, fabricate, document and test custom system interfaces and modifications.

  • Selects Federal Signal products and suitable support equipment to meet system requirements of customers.

  • Works with all parties necessary, both internal and external, to ensure projects are done efficiently and timely.

  • Work with inside sales and operations expediting projects to ensure customer expectations are met.

  • Serve as a liaison between end user customers and engineering firms

  • Responsible for the preparation of material lists, quotes, specifications, compliance documentation and/or acoustic design diagrams relating to system equipment.

  • Assist and provides support to manufacturing in the production of standard model variations.

  • Prepare custom/manual invoices per customer instructions.

  • Travel anticipated at 10% of work schedule

  • Assists in the design, documentation and test of new products as required.

  • Other special duties and projects assigned.

Job Requirements:


  • Technical Associates of Science degree with a concentration in Electronics, Electrical, Industrial engineering or related field highly preferred or 4 years of applicable working experience will be considered in lieu of Associates of Science degree.

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in System Application work.

  • SoundPLAN®, RF Systems, analog, digital, and microprocessor-based control equipment preferred, IP Communications

  • Customer interaction skills.

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Microsoft office, Teams, Smartsheet

  • Possesses extensive technical knowledge of the products designed, utilized, and interfaced to by the Systems Group.

  • The ability to solve complex problems; work on multiple projects simultaneously, while working in a fast-paced environment.

Wage Range: $54,454 - $77,792
