Job Summary
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Commercial (Hybrid) Sales Representative to increase company revenue by growing sales of Oldcastle products in Northern California within our Commercial division. You will have the autonomy to create and apply an effective sales strategy. Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, this position will include growing sales with commercial contractors, generating specifications through the architecture industry, pipeline management, hosting product presentations and trainings, job site visits and developing long-term customer relationships.
Job Responsibilities
Role responsibility and breakdown should consist of 60% contractor focus and 40% specifier focus
Responsible for maintaining effective relationships with current contractors in Northern California that lead to increased sales and revenue
Promote products to architecture, landscape architecture and design build firms, and other companies that specify our products primarily in the East Bay and Sacramento area
Work closely with customers and contractors to develop sales strategies that align with their business needs
Secure and track specifications from architects and specifiers through use of Salesforce and effective pipeline management
Market product offering to specifiers through in person presentations and lunch and learns
Provides technical expertise, sales presentations, plan reviews and job site visits as needed
Work with the operation team to efficiently plan weekly and monthly production plans
Participate in professional organizations relative to territory such as ASLA and BIA
Working knowledge of long cycle sales and how to manage the process
Promote products and educate customer base regularly on product offering
Organize and host customer appreciation or social events to grow network
Communicate regularly with inside sales on estimating and opportunity follow up
Manages submittal documents and organizes available test data, product information, and environmental data
Coordinates sample submittals and job site mock-ups
Seeks new uses and applications for company products with present and prospective customers
Stays alert to competitive products and marketing practices, and to keep management informed
Maintain up-to-date customer and territory records and maintains CRM database
Participates in sales meetings, training programs, meetings, and trade shows
Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience, training, and education
5+ years related experience managing a multi-million-dollar territory in building materials industry
Construction industry experience
Familiar with the commercial construction process
Has experience working with architects, landscape architects or engineers in driving specifications
Must be able to read and understand construction drawings and project specifications
Excellent communication skills
Valid driver's license
Ability to travel overnight as needed and work flexible hours
Ability to lift products up to 50lbs
Ability to navigate through a Customer Relationship Management platform
Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with team members in other departments
Strong background using Salesforce for accounts, sales and pipeline management
Preferred sales experience with contractors or installers in the building materials industry, specifically hardscaping or concrete products
Preferred experience working with and presenting to specifiers: architects or landscape architects or engineers
Demonstrated team player with a positive and motivated attitude
Compensation
Base salary is $80,000 - $90,000
